My Very Crazy Weekend! You've Got to Read About it!
Ok.....are you sitting down? Cause it's going to be a sorta long story. lol. Ok. So I stayed with the kids I stayed with last weekend again this past weekend. It might be a while before I do it again IF I do it again. On Friday we hung out at the house and rented movies. It was pretty fun. The one I watched was "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants". It's a really cute movie. Then Sat. morning we kinda just laid around the house. That afternoon we got dressd and I took the 2 girls ice skating. One is 6 (so precious) and the other one is in the 8th grade. The oldest who is a 9th grader wanted to just stay and watch movies so I let him. When we got to the ice skating rink the 8th grader ran into an ex-boyfriend. She wanted him to come and ice skate w/ her but she was grounded anyways so I didn't really want him to come lol. But he called his grandma to bring him some money so he could. So they ice skated for a while and then we left. Everyone was having a great time. Everyone in great spirits. So we went home and cooked dinner and then went to Starbucks afterwards. At this time again everyone was having a great time and enjoying everyone's company. After Starbucks we just hung out at home. Somewhere between Starbucks and the time I went to bed something changed w/ the 8th grader that I was unaware of. About 11:00 she came into my room and asked if I was a light sleeper. I said no and asked why. She said it was because she was about to watch a movie and didn't want to keep me up and I told her that if I heard it I would let her know. So about 12:15 I got up and thought "I see that the lights are on but I don't hear anything". Then my worst nightmare happened and it wasn't even to my own child. I walked into the living room and saw the couch bed made out. Which was not unusual because they mad it out to watch movies and stuff the last time I was there. The T.V. wasn't on. I looked at the bed and thought "Is that a pillow person?". I went and pulled the cover off and sure enough......a pillow person. I started freaking out and shaking. I went to the 9th graders room and asked him if he knew where his sister was. He had no idea. I went back to the couch and saw a note. The note said she was long gone.....don't come looking for her......and don't call the cops. Ok. What 8th grader in there right mind actually thinks that an adult is going to go "Ok they asked me not to so I'm going to respect there wishes and not look for them nor call the cops"? So I had to call her mother at 12:30 at night by this point and tell her her child has ran away from home. It was the worst phone call I have ever had to make so far in my lifetime. I talked to her mom and then I hung up w/ her and called the cops. The policeman came over and I had to give him all of her information while I had her mom on the phone because I didn't know hardly any of it. After that I had to just go back to bed. I didn't even know where to begin to look for her. I told the police officer that Odessa was pretty big and I had no idea where to begin and that I was from Andrews and could find someone in 5.5 seconds lol. I laid in bed until 3 because the last time I looked at the clock it was 2:45 and I don't think it was long after that , that I finally went to sleep. My stomach was in knots that night. The next morning her 6 yr. old sister kept asking where she was and I kept having to lie to her and tell her she was out. I was thinking "What if she never comes back?" I didn't want to think like that and had prayed the night before about it and how I hoped she did come back. Michelle, a friend of mine and a friend of the mother's, came over to help me try to figure out to where to even begin. We called the few people we did know to call and that's all we can do. Then about 1:30 I hear "She's back". I walked into the living room and she acted as if she had been out in the front yard an hour and now she was coming back in. I asked her where she had been and she said "Out". Oh I was pissed by this point. Her mom got home shortly after that and let me just say I felt as if I was in the 8th grade again. lol I'll make this ending short. We had to call the cops again to let them know that she had come home that way they could take her off of there list and they had to send a police man over to the house. Come to find out I could have been ticketed for her being out past curfew because I was supposed to responsible for her. $400 I nearly had to pay because this girl did this. I would have been more mad than I already was. I'm still a little bitter but at least the weekend was over, she was found, and I got to go home.
